Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered

How should I prepare for my pain management massage?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete forms. I ask that you wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes like gym shorts and a t-shirt like you would wear at the gym. For best outcomes, let me know of any recent injuries or surgeries in the past 6 months and if you have an orthopedic condition, (ex. frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, etc.)

What should I expect from my pain management massage?

After your 15 minute evaluation, we will discuss the treatments we will be doing. You may have to lay on your side, back or face-down with the use of pillows for your comfort. Your therapist will ask you to engage specific muscles such as gently pushing or pulling but never straining. You may feel discomfort at times, but we want to avoid pain to ensure your comfort. At times, your therapist may stretch and hold for 3-5 minutes on a specific area depending on tension and restriction.

What is a LED Facial?

Low-level-light therapy or LED is based on Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology and is the application of light energy to the body for therapeutic benefits. It promotes a natural photo-biochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. The energy delivered by the LEDs has been shown to enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate the repair and replenishment of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulate the production of collagen — the foundation of healthy, smooth skin. Research has shown that LED light therapy may help smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, increase lymphatic system activity, restore skin’s natural cellular activity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and superficial hyperpigmentation. The treatment is for all skin types, and is non-ablative, non-invasive, painless, and requires absolutely no downtime.  Clients can return to their normal activity immediately after the treatment.

What is microcurrent?

A microcurrent facial where we use a special handheld device to deliver gentle currents of electricity to the face. These microcurrents stimulate the skin and muscles with the aim of improving a person’s appearance. These electrical currents will build up facial muscles to lift and tighten the skin. A minumum of three treatments are recommended for best results. This does not involve any surgery. A person remains awake throughout the treatment and can continue their usual activities immediately.

Who should avoid microcurrent?

People who have implanted medical devices like a pacemaker and people who are pregnant should avoid microcurrent.

How should I prepare for microcurrent?

Make sure to drink plenty of fluids 24 hours before your microcurrent facial. Electricity cannot flow properly when the skin is dehydrated. Getting proper nutrition will also help with proper skin functioning. All metal jewelry must be removed to ensure the microcurrent flows on the skin properly.

How much downtime do I need after my microcurrent facial?

There is no downtime. You can resume your regular daily activities as soon as the session is over. Now, if you get microdermabrasion, please follow the proper aftercare instructions.
